Victoria Falls community has responded positively to the call to take advantage of the mass COVID-19 vaccination with many community leaders among those who rolled up their sleeves to get the jab on Monday morning.
The mass vaccination which will see all adults above the age of 18 years in the resort city getting the jab is meant to among other things ensure a safe restart of tourism and give confidence to all tourists intending to visit the popular destination.
Curative Services Director in Ministry of Health and Child Care Dr Maxwell Hove was the first to be inoculated as he received his second jab.
The country’s Second Phase of the National COVID-19 Vaccination programme and the Victoria Falls mass vaccination will be officially launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday in the resort city.
According to a statement issued by government on Sunday, President Mnangagwa, who will be accompanied by leaders of political parties in Zimbabwe, will receive his first jab of Sinovac during the launch event set for Wednesday.
